Hi Jenna! Yes, you are correct. An observation period is the period of time you will need to monitor if the student met the performance threshold and frequency of monitoring checks to make sure the student is consistently performing.

Thank you for sharing your question. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

So if the goal objective is say "by the 2nd grading period, student will do ______ 2 out of 5 times...." then on the day that grading period ends, I would end the progress date? Then does objective A start over? Or I am just done with that one and move on to marking the objective B, which is "by the 3rd grading period, student will do ________ 3 out of 5 times..."?

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Yes, your observation period can be manually ended in fastIEP on the day your grading period ends to give you the information you need. Once the "end observation" button is clicked, a new observation period will be ready to start.

You can also progress monitor on more than one objective at a time. With the example you provided, if the student met object A, then I would begin progress monitoring on objective B. If the objective was not met, I would recommend continuing with objective A before moving on to objective B.
