How can I monitor student progress?

Answered latrelle cooper 10 months ago

Hello,

I) I'm not clear on how the tile shows progress when I add a goal. For example if the goal is to be met 2 out of 3 trials. I see the vertical tile with the 3 sections. However when I log a goal, that "No" the goal wasn't met, I don't see the vertical tile move to show that one trial was entered.

Does it only move when I say "Yes" the student performed the task?

2) I'm not clear when I should press "end observation". Is that after each performance task log in or only when I have logged in 2 out of 3 trials for example

Thanks

Hello Latrelle,

Thank you for sharing your questions. I am glad to help you, and also can meet for a quick call to answer your questions--just click here and find a time that works for you.

Question #1) For each goal, you can see the current observation period's performance progress in the left slider and the progress on successful observation periods in the right slider. The student's current observation period's performance progress with adjust with each event entered. The observation indicator will adjust with each successful closed observation.

Question #2) There are two types of goals in fastIEP -- those that have time-based observation periods (e.g. days, weeks, months) and those that are manual-end observation periods (e.g. observations, classes). If you have a time-based observation period, it will end automatically. If you have a manual-end observation period, you can end the observation by clicking the "End Observation" button.

I would recommend clicking on the "End Observation" button when you have completed your observation period. This could be when you are finished with the 3 observations or at the end of the reporting period.

Please let me know if this helps with understanding the information presented in fastIEP. We are always open to hearing suggestions on how to best present the information teachers need.

Thank you,

Lorena
