fastIEP question--end for reevaluation
My student had a reevaluation and has a new IEP. I do not want to lose the data I have so far. What do I do?

Hi Nurgal,
I would be happy to help you with making sure your information is not lost after a student has had an annual review meeting. To better understand, were you planning on being able to still interact with the previous IEP's data or looking to have the information readily available in a report form, if needed?
Thank you again for contacting us and look forward to hearing from you soon to better assist you.

My student had a reevaluation before his mandated time. Most of his goals changed. What is the best way to end the previous IEP. His original meeting date would have been sometime in April.

Hi Nurgul,
I am including the link to our FAQ: What happens once my ARD has passed?. This will help with understanding the steps necessary for updating your student's profile.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any further information.
Thank you!

@Nurgul Turan...I've found that I've ended up losing all but the most recent data on every single student--only the last few entries print out in the PDF. I've actually had to stop using FastIEP because I was losing so much data that I was having to enter it into FastIEP plus Samegoal to make sure I still had it. :(

Hi @Allison Shardell,
Wow, we definitely never want anyone to lose data and stop using fastIEP. We've never had anyone actually lose data before, so we want to do everything we can to make this right. Sometimes we find that the data is recorded, but it doesn't show up due to how the observation periods are set up, or how the reporting/ARDs are set up. For example, if you require the student to meet the performance threshold for "three consecutive weeks," if they miss the threshold for a week then the graph/counter returns to zero, but all the data points are still there in the data history.
We'd really appreciate the opportunity to restore your trust. Would you be available for a quick video call with our founder and inventor? I'm sure he can figure out where the data is and recover it for you. As a token of our appreciation, we'd like to offer you a year of fastIEP for free.
Please let me know!
Thank you,
Jim

I brought it up several months ago and even sent screen shots. When you make a PDF, it ONLY has the most recent data on it. I had 12 pages of data on a student that I could see in the app but then when I made the PDF, only the first page was visible on the PDF. I had worked with the crew to try to get it fixed but it never was so it ended up being pretty unusable to me--I teach mod-intensive self-contained so I have *daily* data on students. It was a pretty bad shock to go back to write their progress reports and I had to manually scroll through everything instead of just looking at the PDF and then when I went to do the new IEP, I downloaded the PDF but most of the data wasn't there. I paid for this year already but after 2 months, I couldn't justify spending the extra time to log everything into this program and Samegoal. The PDFs are pretty important so that you can close out goals and add new ones, especially without an archiving feature. But it also would have made our monthly progress reports we have to write easier. The data is there in the app but there is something serious wrong with the PDF feature because it does NOT download all of the student's data at all.

Hi @Allison Shardell,
Thank you so much for taking time to explain the background!
So, if I understand correctly, the data was there in the data tab in the app, but all of the data wasn't printing out on the PDF (only the first page of data was printing). I understand how frustrating that can be, especially for mod-intensive where you have a lot of data recorded every day. Also, although we do keep all historical data indefinitely, it's frustrating for you that we don't provide a way for you to go back and look at data from previous goals that have been met or modified, or are from previous review periods.
Thank you for the excellent feedback. I will be refunding all payments that you've made in the past, and converting your account to a lifetime unlimited free account. We are actually already working on updates to fix these two issues, and hope to have them released shortly. If you have the time, would you be willing to give us your feedback on the design of these features so that we can be 100% sure it addresses your needs? If so, we'd like to set up a 30-minute video call with our inventor and he can show you the designs. Your feedback will be invaluable...all of the features in fastIEP originate with teachers like you.
Thank you again for your candid feedback!
Regards,
Jim

That would be great--I would be willing to do that. Thank you. Definitely email me and throw out a few dates/times. :)

It's fixed now!!! This is what I was looking for--I tested it with a student who has a ton of data and all 20 pages are now in the PDF! Thank you so much.
